Bio

Willie 3rd Street, born Carson Gream, grew up in a small town in Western Kentucky. Strongly influenced by bluegrass music, he picked up the guitar and discovered his talent for writing and performing at a young age.

His first full album, "Live From Two North", is rich with Americana undertones and showcases his raw talent.

In 2004, he took the project to Bowling Green where he connected with producer Joel Hopper. Hopper, who was affiliated with the hip-hop group known as Nappy Roots, helped Willie 3rd Street to find a new sound that was unique and original."I was hooked from the first time he took my acoustic/vocals and put a beat on it. I don't have a name for whatever kind of genre it is but I call it mine."

W3S used the barter system to get his foot in the door trading studio time for his graphic arts services by designing the album cover for Nappy Roots, who was in need of a fresh look for their new album "The Humdinger."

Willie 3rd Street has had the opportunity to work with a large variety of professional players. He describes his live performance as "simple" but his stage presence and lyrical wit is captivating and satisfying.

In 2005, W3S took the show to Nashville, Tennessee where he has been blessed to play some of Music City's most prestigious venues including, but not limited to; Exit/In, Mercy Lounge, 3rd and Lindsley, 12th and Porter, Red Rooster, and Limelight.

Willie 3rd Streets album, titled "The Redbook Sessions", was produced by Joel Hopper compliments of Nappy Roots Entertainment Group (NREG)/Severe Records (Nashville), and features Danniel Tichenor and Jared Champion of Cage the Elephant. It also includes tracks produced by Justin Kalk, and DJ Wickit. Set for re-release early 2015.
